Our commitment
Haunted Town Hall is committed to making our website usable for everyone. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines and improve accessibility on an ongoing basis. The haunt is designed to scare you; the website is not.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML, real buttons and links, labels, and alt text
- Maintain color contrast, including testing our green-on-black combinations against WCAG AA
- Keep every control reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline
- Honor your reduced motion setting: flicker, glow pulses, and scroll animations turn off when your device asks for reduced motion
- Provide captions or transcripts when possible for media
- Review new pages and features for accessibility before launch
Known limits
- Third-party surfaces, like YouTube players and the Google Maps embed on the directions page, may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA
- The site uses flicker and glow effects by design; they are disabled under reduced motion, but the default presentation is intentionally moody
- Some older media may lack captions. We are working on it
The attraction itself
This statement covers the website. The haunt is a historic two-story building with stairs, tight spaces, fog, and strobe lighting, and the honest answers about accessibility inside it live in the FAQ. If you have a question we have not answered, contact us before you buy.
